It is important to recognize that not everyone is impacted by COVID-19 in the ways that we are. In conflict zones or post-conflict regions children have already been orphaned, and civilians already displaced. In Iraq, the pandemic has only made a difficult situation worse and it is important to recognize the need to provide aid and assistance as it arises. Organizations like Al-Ayn work in a grassroots capacity to monitor and assess the needs of vulnerable populations in Iraq as they arise, and their COVID-19 campaign is an example of shifting focus where it is needed. Changes to our socialization should also extend into the charity that we give, and with the growing need for pandemic related aid, donating or raising awareness can make an impact for people who need it most.
